Gippsland Foster Parents

A support network for foster families to assist them to cope with the day to day issues associated with caring for children in the Child Protection system within the six Gippsland municipalities Bass Coast Shire, Baw Baw Shire, East Gippsland Shire, Latrobe City, South Gippsland Shire and Wellington Shire councils .

The Association has now operated for over twenty five years. All Community Service Organisations are represented in the membership. The Community Service Organisations which operate in the Gippsland region are Anglicare, Berry Street, SalvoCare, Gippsland and East Gippsland Aboriginal Co-Operative - Koori Kare, Quantum and Uniting Care Gippsland.

Calendar of activities (typical year)

January - Beach day

March/ April - Easter function

April/ August - excursion to the city, AFL football

August - Annual General Meeting

September - Foster Care Celebration Day

November / December - Christmas function

February / November informal meetings, coffee mornings, information sessions and Committee meetings
