September 2012 Newsletter

President’s Report

Hi all, last month the Association had conducted its 20th AGM that is right the Association will celebrate its 21st birthday the actual date will be 11th September 2012. It is interesting to know that the association existed as a network/ support group prior to becoming an Association. Speaking of which, do we have any volunteers willing to invest some time to get our current Constitution (Articles of Association) updated? A task that needs to be completed in the near future.

Since the last newsletter / What’s on update we conducted our AGM. To the outgoing Committee thank for your support. A big thank you to Louise Ponton for her effort as the GFP Treasurer over the past few years. To the incoming Committee I am looking forward to working closely with you in delivering events and programs which benefit the members.

Recently we held a Morning Tea in Inverloch during June, a BBQ in Lakes Entrance during the July school holidays and a very well attended AFL match at the end of July.

A big thank you to Tim and Shelley for organising this year’s Christmas function.

Keep on caring

President’s Report

Hi all, wouldn’t you know it Easter just around the corner.

Since the last newsletter we had conducted our weekend getaway, a Christmas and beach day.

Everyone who attended the CYC weekend getaway had an enjoyable time enough though it rained, the venue catered perfectly for our needs.

Great to see many new faces at the Christmas function at Moe on the Friday 9th Dec. We had to conduct this event on short notice as we were successful in obtaining donations/ sponsorship for that purpose. Those who attended were pleasantly surprised!

Our beach day was conducted in the eastern region for the first time. To the people who travelled and made the effort a big thank you. Just a shame no one from the east attended.

Create held their Christmas party this year in our region Gumbuya Park, Tynong, great to see many of our members in attendence.

The Committee met in Inverloch on 2nd March and mapped out some activities for the year ahead. The Committee will now meet on Fridays instead of Thursdays as it has done for over ten years, due to my work commitments. Hopefully this change of day will attract other faces to our meetings.

We will not conduct an Easter function this year, no one put their hand up to organise the event. Unfortunately too much is left to too few – my hubby Peter he just does not have the time available these days.

Our usual coffee morning has been replaced for this time by an afternoon tea the Committee
